Looking to make a statement photobooth at your next shindig? This DIY floral photo backdrop was super easy and was the talk of the town at my cousin’s Alice in Wonderland-themed bridal shower.
Because the theme alluded to the popular movie, Alice in Wonderland, and we were going for a garden-esque tea party theme, we originally wanted to create one of those giant paper flower backdrops, and had every intention of doing so. That was until, we visited the mother-load of party planning warehouses – Chan’s in Miami, FL. Seriously, this place has everything and I thought I would never leave.
After finding quite a few decor items that we thought would go perfectly with our theme, we came across these foam lily pad flowers that seemed to solve all of our issues – 1. not having to buy a thousand sheets of construction paper to make the paper flowers, and 2. not having to spend like 4 hours making them. So, I was sold. Added bonus: Since they were foam, we were able to float a few extra in the pool and add a little more of the garden feel to the whole party.
Using two curtain panels ( you can buy them at a pretty good price from Target or HomeGoods), and a tension curtain rod (Walmart) we hung the curtain over the doorway in my living room. Then, we used safety pins to fasten the flowers to the curtain itself and added a few laminated clocks with fishing line to tie-in to the Alice in Wonderland theme. We downloaded these adorable free clock printables from a great party-planning blog called, In My Own Style.
The doorway was right next to the front door, and was the perfect spot for people to enter and take pictures as well as seat the beautiful bride while she opened her presents. Two birds, one stone.

It was such an easy DIY project and every picture was insta-worthy. That’s a win in my book!
