This past weekend, Jonathan, the Bear and I traveled to the West Coast of Florida for a nice beach weekend getaway! Not only did I prepare for sunshine and tanning the whole week before, but I knew that this would be a great way to find other natural inspiration for the blog and for all my lovely readers. Of course, I packed way too much, and ended up having to leave most in the car at the marina (you can only get to the beach house by boat), BUT I did smuggle a few markers into my purse. Muahahahah.
On Friday, I got off work at 2:00 pm and we headed straight onto the road for our 5 hour trip. The next morning, Bear woke us up at the unusually early time of 6:45. I tried to sleep a bit later, but he was just anxious to get down to the beach and explore! We couldn’t wait to see his reaction since last time we took him to the beach, he walked along the shore with us and avoided the water at all costs!
I guess things change, because while we headed out for our morning walk along the beach, he decided that he wasn’t so afraid of the water and ACTUALLY GOT IN (up to his chest). Hey! Progress is progress.
We were even able to let him off the leash and run around like a wild thang. And boy did he love that! Just look at the joy in his face. lmfao Excuse the blurr, it was too great of a picture not to share.
Later on, we went for a bit of exploring – really does wonders to get those creative juices flowing.
Look at this adorable mini chapel!
The rope and wood textures all around were perfect inspiration.
Now that summer is right around the corner, the days are crazy long and we took advantage of the extra long day. Before sunset, we took another walk (Bear was not complaining), and found a bunch of driftwood structures and shells. It’s basically a morning/afternoon past-time for those that visit – collecting shells. I think Jonathan’s mom has collected thousands just in the short time they’ve been there.
The End
The sun finally sets on a peaceful beach weekend and I could not be happier to be tan and relaxed.
Now, for a little hand-lettering natural inspiration
Love how easy it is to write on these smooth oblong shells.
