Monica’s Floral Bridal Shower

December 14, 2017 DIY, Latest Lettering Gigs, lettering

Hello lovelies! Today I want to share a look into my cousin Monica’s Floral themed bridal shower, where I took the chance to incorporate as much of my hand lettered projects as possible. 🙂

Because Monica’s last name is Flores (meaning flowers), she decided on the perfect hashtag, #LaFlorDeRomero and we decided a Floral Bridal Shower was a great theme to go with for the shower! We tried to incorporate this theme into almost all of the ideas we brought to life – browse through the photos below to see what I mean at our the bridal shower held at Cibo Wine Bar in South Beach.

Planning Tools

Like everything else I plan in this world, we used a spreadsheet to help us get organized – If your looking for a bridal shower planner to live and breath by AND help you not pull your hair out when planning your brides’ special day (or really any party), then check out the below spreadsheet to help you out! I put it on google doc and both Amanda (Monica’s matron of honor) and I used it to plan the party together since we were based in different locations! It was the perfect solution to planning something with multiple people involved.

The Invites

The invites were something that I wanted to make extra special, I created these using watercolor and digital software. Then we ordered the actual printed invites off of Vistaprint where you can upload your custom design – 50 invites with Premium white matte stock paper, for $42! Vistaprint constantly has sales so make sure to take advantage!

Bride To Be Chair Sign

Instead of a simple “Bride To Be” chair sign, we wanted to make hers a little more unique – La Flor (The Flower) since she is the flower. Hah Get it? I did this little sign on a chalkboard with some chalkboard markers and added a little seeded eucalyptus to add a delicate touch.

What would a party be without a hand painted welcome sign by yours truly – looking for something similar for your next event? Send me a message!! For reference, this sign was about 24 x 30 (it was a piece of wood I already had) but these can be made in a variety of sizes.

This easel was another purchase – with a quick coat of white spray paint it was the perfect medium to hold the sign — you can purchase it on amazon for only $15!(and bonus, it’s on prime!)

On each of the tables, Monica’s friend Stephanie put together these adorable little photo holders, using the photos from their engagement shoot.

I also used some of the shorter cut flowers from our flower haul to create this flower crown for Monica. For supplies, I used two pipe-cleaners wrapped in floral tape and floral tape to attach the flowers around the circle.

Floral Crown

Just a peek at the floral centerpieces that Stephanie helped me put together! We really wanted to make them very garden like and ethereal, not too much color other than the bright greens and hints of burgundy from the leaves.

Flowers used: White spider mums, Seeded Eucalyptus, Small ivory roses, peach hypernicum, burgundy ranunculus and large leaves for the bottom part of the vase (to hide the stems, this is my favorite arranging trick!).

On each table setting, we included a small activity slip – this one was “Your Favorite Memory With The Bride”. We purchased the digital file for these on etsy but this is definitely something that I can work on for your event if you’re looking for something very customized! bridal shower table setup

The future Mrs. Romero banner – another lovely etsy purchase. 🙂 bridal shower decor

Photo Backdrop

Now this floral backdrop was my pride and joy. I had seen a few inspiration ideas on pinterest and used carnations to bring it to life.

Supplies:

60 total carnations (24 white, 18 pink/blush and 18 red). There were 6 total strands to go across

Hemp string for the top

Fishing line

Embroidery needle

Encouraging people to help share the love on social media with this custom hashtag sign – this sign was about 6″ x 20″ sized.

Bouquet Bar Favors

We saw this idea on pinterest originally from a few different sources but decided on the below! We purchased these galvanized buckets from Hobby Lobby, and ordered extra of the flowers from the centerpieces so that people could take home their own version of the centerpieces.

The sign, was made from butcher paper and I incorporated my lettering to create it!

The cones were also created with butcher paper and some silk ribbon (cut into 1.5′ sections) and taped onto to cones. But…. you can purchase similar cones the easy way on Amazon! (50 for $10)

If you want something similar for your event or your building your own flower bar, you can purchase the cones and I can add your hashtag onto them! If that’s not inta-worthy, I don’t know what is. 😉

We also ordered these delicious cupcakes and added these 3D flower cupcake toppers from etsy!

As a guest book, we bought Monica a delicious bottle of Rosé and had people sign with golden sharpies!

Another one of my favorite additives for a bridal shower, is to provide some advice for the bride!

If you’re interested in including any of the lettering items you’ve seen on this post for your next occasion, send us a message and we’d LOVE to create them for you!

The Bride arrives…..!

I would say that reaction was well worth it. 😀

Games

This one was one of my favorites, and I’m pretty sure it was a hit with the guests as well!

Find the groom

Each guest received an envelope. In each envelope, there was a man print out. All of which were people and kids faces photoshopped onto the groom’s body. The guest that had the groom in her envelope won a prize! Get this, my grandma won the groom!!

Favorite Memories With The Bride

The Newlywed Game – In this instance the “almost” newlywed game

The groom arrived and we played the newlywed game as the last game of the party! We asked both the bride and the groom questions about each other or them as a couple and they had to answer. It was pretty funny to see some of the reactions! HAHA

Loved showering my beautiful cousin and beautiful bride to be with love! <3
